"Awesome and Terrible: the frightening side of faith"

Rev. Mitra Jafarazadeh

Often, when cultures depict the divine as pure goodness, there is also a depiction of an incarnation of pure evil.  Sometimes positive qualities are intertwined with negative ones in the same figure. Though we spend most of our time thinking on the good things, inevitably, we have to figure out how to depict and understand the more difficult aspects of life. Come this Sunday as we look at the awesome and terrible of faith across cultures

Our Mission: St. John’s is committed to creating a safe and caring community, working for peace and social justice, and celebrating beliefs that respect freedom of thought.
