The St. John's YRUU Class

Annual YRUU service returns! “Frozen,” Disney’s most recent blockbuster, is very popular among children--but it has struck a chord with teens and young adults as well. Our culture has undergone major shifts through the years and so have Disney movies and characters. Our high school youth will look at these shifts by exploring timeless themes found in Disney in this spirit- and song-filled worship service!

"Shanti Anniversary"

Rev. Mitra Jafarzadeh and Kanniks Kannikeswaran

Ten years ago, the Indian Choir began their work on Shanti under the direction of Kanniks here at St. John’s. Today we will combine the music of Shanti with reflections on the Upanishads as we explore wisdom in the Hindu tradition.

This is an intergenerational service. Children are welcome to sit with their parents in the sanctuary, or if they would like freedom to move, families can sit together in the chapel. Immediately after the service, we will share a potluck meal then have the opportunity to return to the sanctuary for more music.

"Music and Ministry in Eastern Europe"

Rev. Mitra Jafarzadeh and Dr. Catherine Roma and the 2014 Pilgrimage Choir

This Sunday we will enjoy some of the music our choir will be taking to Eastern Europe as we consider the meaning of pilgrimage and the power of connection.

Our Mission: St. John’s is committed to creating a safe and caring community, working for peace and social justice, and celebrating beliefs that respect freedom of thought.
