Peacemaking Pledge Campaign
At the 2006 UUA General Assembly, delegates approved a four year Congregational Study/Action on Peacemaking and posed the following question:
| Should the Unitarian Universalist Association reject the use of any and all kinds of violence and war to resolve disputes between peoples and nations and adopt a principle of seeking just peace through nonviolent means? |
|---|
In response, a St. John's Peacemaking Task Force conducted a five month series of programs leading to 10 proposals including changes to our mission statement and bylaws adopted by the required super majority at a Special Congregational meeting on April 27, 2008.
