Position Description(1)

Responsibilities(2):

  1. Oversee the publishing of any informational or educational brochures or publications produced by EarthSpirit;
  2. Coordinate the EarthSpirit Newsletter -- describing the upcoming events and activities within the organization;
  3. Oversee the advertisement and distribution of EarthSpirit events within the community at large and within the St. John's community, including being published in The Reporter and the orders of service;
  4. Be the official spokesperson for EarthSpirit.


Gifts required:

  1. Preferably work on other publications;
  2. Good people skills, articulation, and writing abilities;
  3. Being receptive to the positions and mission of EarthSpirit;
  4. Ability to meet deadlines;
  5. Preferably an email account.


Amount of time required:

Average of three hours per month, though time may vary depending on publications being produced


When Ministry is performed:

  1. Through all publications, advertisements and so forth produced for EarthSpirit;
  2. At public events as our official spokesperson;
  3. Assignments at own convenience;
  4. Once a month at the Executive Committee meetings.


Length of Commitment:
Two Years

Training provided:

  1. Executive Committee orientation;
  2. Training from previous Publications/Public Relations officer;
  3. Any further training may be sought and provided from fellow Committee members.


Responsible to:
EarthSpirit chair and all fellow Committee members

Support provided:

  1. Support and encouragement provided from other Committee members, the Chair, and fellow EarthSpirit members.
  2. Response to all requests for training and/or information you need to fulfill your position and make it rewarding and growth-filled.
  3. Welcome and respect for your suggestions and opinions.
  4. The personal and professional support of the minister and other lay leaders from the congregation.
