Responsibilities(2):
- Act as a liaison between
EarthSpirit and the religious education (RE) program at St. John's;
- Regularly touch base with
the RE directors;
- Organize childcare for the
adult-oriented rituals;
- Organize teachers/classes
for the RE program at St. John's;
- Act as a liaison between
the St. John's youth group and EarthSpirit;
- Organize adult RE classes/speakers
on Earth-based practices at St. John's.
Gifts required:
- Commitment to Earth-based
religious education in all stages of life;
- Ability to work with children;
- Good people and organizational
skills;
- Ability to facilitate classes.
Amount of time required:
Average of four hours per month
When Ministry is performed:
- Through all organized classes;
- Arranging a healthy environment
for children during adult-oriented ritual;
- Assignments at own convenience;
- Once a month at the Executive
Committee meetings.
Length of Commitment:
Two Years
Training provided:
- Executive Committee orientation;
- Training from previous Educational
Director;
- Any further training may
be sought and provided from fellow Committee members.
Responsible to:
EarthSpirit chair and all fellow Committee members
Support provided:
- Support and encouragement
provided from other Committee members, the Chair, and fellow EarthSpirit
members.
- Response to all requests
for training and/or information you need to fulfill your position and
make it rewarding and growth-filled.
- Welcome and respect for
your suggestions and opinions.
- The personal and professional
support of the minister and other lay religious education leaders from
the congregation, including the Directors of Religious Education.
