Responsibilities(2):
- Prepare the agenda and facilitate
business meetings;
- Oversee the scheduling of,
and secure a place for, rituals and other events;
- Create an open dialogue
with the EarthSpirit liaison on the St. John's Board;
- Present an annual report
to the St. Johns board;
- Handle all administrative
duties involved in maintaining membership as an official affiliated
CUUPS chapter.
Gifts required:
- Personal commitment to strengthening
the ties between Earth-based tradition and UU-ism;
- Strong group processing
skills and the ability to lead active and productive meetings;
- Ability and willingness
to delegate, work as a team member, and support committee members;
- Good organizational and
planning skills;
- Commitment to broader member
involvement;
- Ability to and rituals.
Amount of time required:
Average of six to nine hours per month
When Ministry is performed:
- Annual and monthly Committee
meetings;
- Assignments at own convenience;
- Through coordinating community
events and activities;
- Keeping in contact with
all subcommittee members;
- Keeping in touch with the
St. Johns Board.
Length of Commitment:
Two Years
Training provided:
- Executive Committee orientation;
- Training from previous Chairperson;
- Any further training may
be sought and provided from fellow Committee members.
Responsible to:
EarthSpirits liaison to the St. Johns board, and to other
members of your Committee
Support provided:
- Support and encouragement
provided from other Committee members, the board and fellow EarthSpirit
members.
- Response to all requests
for training and/or information you need to fulfill your position and
make it rewarding and growth-filled.
- Welcome and respect for
your suggestions and opinions.
- The personal and professional
support of the minister and other lay leaders from the congregation.
